Villa Valentino #14

Villa Valentino #14 is an amazing two bedroom, one bath apartment built in the 1920’s. It has been fully restored and fully furnished. It has two fantastic gas log fireplaces in both the living room and the master bedroom. It features a vintage stove in a quaint kitchen that will take you back to your great grandmother's day. Reserved, on-property parking. The property is located just 2 blocks south of the Hollywood Bowl, and 2 blocks north of the “Heart of Hollywood” at Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave. Easy walking access to Disney’s El Capitan Theater, the Kodak Theater, Graumann’s Chinese Theater, the Metro station, restaurants galore and many other attractions. Close access to the 101 Freeway.

Designed by the Davis Brothers Architects, Villa Valentino is designated as Los Angeles City Cultural Monument #397, and is one of the best remaining examples of the Garden Court style of architecture from the early 20th century. It is a hidden gem. Step back in time.

  We took a chance on this as seen through website, and could not of been more impressed. The property manager was friendly and informative. The grounds had multiple alcoves of outdoor seating surrounded by beautiful foliage, fountains, candles, and lights. We ate every meal in a different place. There are great stairwells, tile work, arches, so much to love. It is 3 blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, and about 3 miles from Universal. And easy drive to anywhere around Hollywood. The manager made herself very available. The place was phenomenal to relax on the patios with the doors open, working fireplace, comfortable beds and pillows, on-site laundry, wonderful kitchen. Could not have loved this place more!

  We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The common areas are beautiful and relaxing. Carrie is super nice and helpful. There was a bit of update construction going on at the time, but hardly noticed it, because we didn't spend much time there during the day. A short walk to Hollywood Blvd, the Hollywood Bowl and a 5 minute drive to Universal Studios. Very convenient. Warning: don't get ripped off at the corner market nearby... Go to Ralph's Market for supplies. Download the Ralph's app and sign up for their savings club. It'll save you a ton of money. Thanks again.

  The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was beautiful and charming. The rooms were all spacious and the apartment was very clean and had all the conveniences we could want.
  What makes this place so special is the courtyard and gardens. Highland and Hollywood is a busy area with lots of traffic but you leave all that behind when you go through the garden door to the complex. It's very safe... locked off from the street... and very tranquil. The interior courtyards have dining tables, sitting areas, fountains and gardens, to enjoy the outdoors. It is prettier than I could possibly describe. We felt very lucky, every day that we were there.
  The location is fantastic. We were two blocks to Hollywood boulevard in one direction and two blocks the other way is the Hollywood Bowl. Universal Studios, LA Zoo, Griffith Observatory, Mulholland Drive are all very close by (short drive).
  Carrie is the manager and she is wonderful and welcoming. You would not find a better host.
  I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

  I couldn't recommend hollywood hideaway enough! We were a family of 5 and we loved it here. You won't find anything else in Hollywood like this place and for the price as well. From arriving, to driving out of the gate our time there was amazing. Carrie is one of the nicest people I've ever met and was always on the end of the phone if we needed her. It literally is a hidden gem and as soon as we walked into the courtyard we were taken back by how nice it was. Our apartment was spotless and we couldn't of asked for more.

  This is the second time I have stayed at the Hollywood Hideaways. I must say it again. This place is amazing!! I was working at the Pantages Theater, so the drive to work was 5-15 minutes. Being right by the Hollywood Bowl would keep me away, if I were to live in LA full time. But just for a month or so it's totally manageable.
  The property itself is a complete oasis. Like being picked up and dropped in the glamour of old Hollywood. The property is built in 1926. Scott and Carrie have done everything to make you feel that character. Beautiful brick walkways, different courtyards, bbq's with beautiful tables for a meal al fresco, and original character throughout the apts.
  This is one of my favorite vacation rentals. Every time I'm in Los Angeles, I know where I'll be staying!

  My husband and daughter and I stayed at Villa Valentino for 9 days in MAY and were so happy with our stay there! It was centrally located to everything and Carrie was wonderful when she met with us upon check in to explain restaurants, grocery stores, much was within walking distance as well! The house was very comfortable and cozy and immaculate. Well stocked with items to have a great breakfast before we started our day and we had wine and appetizers in the evening. We even did laundry which was very convenient. The beds were very comfy as well! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the city. We hiked the Hollywood Hills, went to a Dodger game, went to the beach, Santa Monica, Pasadena, the Grove, Melrose (shopping) and were so happy to come back to the little oasis and sit on the cute patio. GREAT PLACE!

  We LOVE this property! It was everything we hoped for! The architecture was interesting and the courtyard was gorgeous with lots of plants, fountains and seating areas! It is right off Highland but once you go through the two privacy gates it is quiet. It feels very safe, going through a first gate to the private parking lot and then another locked gate into the courtyard of the complex. The unit was beautiful, clean and exactly like the pictures. It is a large, spacious unit with very nice sized rooms and the fireplaces were nice on the chilly nights. The property manager was wonderful and even provided us with extra cookware for our Thanksgiving dinner. The location is EXCELLENT and we were able to walk to EVERYTHING in Hollywood and the free, on-site parking was awesome. We hope to stay here on our future visits to Hollywood and would definitely recommend this property!!!!

  We spent 3 nights in Villa Valentino #14 and would highly recommend this to anybody spending time in the Hollywood area. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. My husband and I had the master bedroom, while my daughter had the 2nd upstairs bedroom. She loved the raised the platform that the bed was on and had the most comfortable bed of all. Ours was a little too hard, but we slept fine all the same. My son used the sofa bed and said that was fine for a few nights, better than some pullouts. The kitchen had everything you would need for a simple meal and there was also several BBQ grills outside which we never had time to use.
  
  We really loved the beautiful tropical grounds of the enclosed villa area. It had a European feel right in the heart of the city. We walked to restaurants each day and to the mall and tourist attractions on Hollywood Blvd. Warner Bros. Studio, Paramount and Universal are less than 20 minutes away. Depending on traffic, Venice Beach and Santa Monica Beach could be 30 mins to 2 hours away. We found the weekend traffic to be very slow.
  
  Carrie was great and very accommodating. She gave us awesome restaurant suggestions and told us about the best almond croissants at a nearby grocery store. We would gladly rent this villa again, if we come back to LA.

  My family of 5 had a wonderful stay. These historic 1930's apartments have been well maintained. We really enjoyed the brick-paved courtyard with trees, flowers, and fountains. One evening we grilled steak and ate outside. At night there are lights under the trees to enjoy. The building is very secure with a gate to the parking lot and to the courtyard. It is close to the Hollywood Bowl, the Walk of Fame, and shopping. There is easy access to the highway and downtown. Carrie, the property manager, was very helpful, making sure we had everyone we needed. The only negative is that the traffic on the street can get pretty crazy at times, but we learned that's just part of the LA experience.

  We stayed at Villa No 14 for 7 days in June - it was great to have an apartment where as a family of 4 we could spread out but was located so close to Hollywood Blvd and attractions. It was literally an oasis with easy off street parking and good security - just off busy Highland Avenue. The Walk of Fame and Chinese Theatre were a 10 min walk as were restaurants, shops etc. Close to Griffith Park and Universal Studios as well. Carrie the apartment manager was lovely and always available to assist with any questions or recommendations. We used the BBQ in the courtyard as well and it was nice to stay in for dinner occasionally. As an interior designer I loved the decor of the villa and the effort used to recreate 1930's Hollywood. It was clean and beds were comfortable and there was lots of space for clothes and storage. Kids said great wi-fi! We would definitely stay here again if visiting LA.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Valentino #14. I was looking for a rental with all the charm of Hollywood bygone days and both our vintage apartment and the luscious and romantic interior courtyard made that dream come true. To top it off, your gracious hospitality made us feel truly at home. My sons were exposed to a great sense of history and my adult companions, both of whom are savy Hollywood/architectural connoisseurs were duly impressed, so bravo !
  
  We especially loved the contrast of leaving busy and noisy Highland Ave to enter the already much quieter outer courtyard, shaded by its cathedral height palm tree, and then having to proceed through succeeding gate, moorish archways and twisted cobbled alleys to deeper gardens and quiet. By the time we'd reach our dwelling, we always felt we had left the 21st century behind. What an amazing feeling !
  
  Unit 14 is ideally situated at the rear of the property with a private patio (table for 4 or 6) overlooking the grand central courtyard shaded by multiple trees. The master bedroom opens unto this garden and the smaller bedroom has a window on a side courtyard enliven by a lovely fountain. Villa Valentino (first called Roman Gardens by its architects Pierpont and Davis in 1926) is ideally situated in walking distance from Hollywood Blv and the subway and surrounded by the lovely homes of Whitley Heights and Hightower full of secret public staircases. A walker's dream. There a two whole foods supermarkets one subway stop away or 3 minutes by car. We felt safe at all times. Perfection !

  We loved this apartment so much that my teenage daughter was ready to move in. The brick courtyard with red tiled roofs and Mexican ceramic tiles is lovely. The fireplaces were especially nice in the "winter" mornings and evenings; the beds were very comfortable, the WiFi was fast. We were so happy we stayed here!

  We had a great experience at Villa Valentinos #14. The people were friendly and the place looks quaint. Everything was there that we needed. Valentino is close to downtown Hollywood, a five minute walk.

  We had a wonderful time. The rental upon arriving is very understated which I loved. The front entrance hides the luxury that awaits. True old Hollywood style. Our hostess was on point. She greeted us and gave us a tour. We were delighted with the unit. Kitchen was stocked with basics. Grocer is about a 3 miles walk. Need an uber or car. Beds were comfy and the sofa sleeper was as well. We traveled with two adults and two teenagers. Plenty of room. The bedrooms are large so it made it a nice retreat to read. We sat outside in the courtyard and visited with our hostess and Teagan her pup. We enjoyed every minute. My friend and I loved the serenity of the garden areas. The unit does have AC but the weather was perfect and we had the windows open the whole time. There was an annoying neighbor dog behind the units that barked and barked. Eventually the owner would put him up and it was never late at night. We had problems with our oven/range and one call and it was repaired. The location was awesome. We have friends in Hollywood HIlls so it was PERFECT for us. Additionally we walked to Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd several times and enjoyed the walks. It's about 1/2 mile to catch a tour bus or subway. We would definitely return. There are several units to choose from but for us girls this was awesome.
  The unit has one bathroom but honestly it was not a problem even with 4 ladies using it. Towels are plush. Bed linens are wonderful. Didnt use the fireplaces but sure wanted too. Our amazing hostess even let us borrow movies so we could have a girls movie night.
  
  The courtyard was great for sitting and relaxing. Very peaceful and quiet.

  The accommodation was clean and convenient to Hollywood. The bedrooms were lovely and big and the unit itself was spacious. It was great to have access to a washing machine and dryer. The customer service was excellent. The only issue was that there were six of us and only one key which caused issues if we returned to the proerty separately.

  This home was positively charming. In the big city of LA, this is the perfect secret hideaway. Once you close the gate you find yourself surrounded by big trees, greenery and the calming trickling of fountains. The home was spotless, the kitchen was equipped to prepare some meals in house. We slept great in the comfortable beds (I called it my cloud)You can walk to the Hollywood Bowl, tons of shopping, wonderful restaurants & plenty of tourist attractions. Scott & Cecilia were very accommodating. I will definitely be back & not hesitate to refer friends.

  We enjoyed the vacation rental very much. It was a home away from home. It was a great place to relax and the beds were comfortable. It's in a great location, walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Boulevard. We would stay there again. Be sure and bring your own shampoo and hairdryer as those things are not provided.

  This is a beautiful unit in the Villa's. It was quiet and peaceful, but you are close to everything. One tip I can think of is don't forget your hair dryer and conditioner. Beyond that the house is stocked with all your essentials.

  This was the cutest little aparment right in the middle of Hollywood. It was perfect for my family with 3 teenagers. It had 2 bedrooms and a pullout sofa with one bathroom. There was a little courtyard perfect for reading a book or just relaxing. We walked to Hollywood Blvd several times and saw a concert at the Hollywood Bowl just a short walk away. It is the perfect location. The apartment was very clean and the management so nice and very helpful from the moment we booked. The property is basically hidden from the road behind a gate that needed a lock or code to enter. We felt very safe in this area and loved our stay. I cooked breakfast in the cutest little kitchen each morning before we headed out. We loved everything about this place!

  I did extensive research on where to stay and it really paid off with finding Villa Valentino. Right in the center of Hollywood Blvd and the Hollywood Bowl. Walk either way to see what's going on. Double secure gate parking. Two story Cali style condo with lovely courtyard to enjoy. If you like the French Quarter and enjoying relaxing southern style but want to be in the center of it all in LA, stay here.

  We had a great stay at these renovated old villas in Hollywood. Just a 5 minute walk down 2 blocks and you're on Hollywood Boulevard. We had a 2 bedroom villa which was perfect, bedrooms upstairs with lounge/dining and kitchen downstairs. It was spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and pillows and plenty of towels. Each villa has table/chairs outside with also a common area with new bbq. The only downside was that we were told the closest food/grocery market was 2 miles away. After we walked there and caught a taxi home we found a fresh and easy market in Hollywood Boulevard right next to the Chinese Theatre. Would definitely stay here again if travelling to Hollywood.

  A lovely retreat in the heart of Hollywood. A beautiful 1920's apartment building with a nice mixture of full-time residents and vacation travelers. The apartment has old world charm of original hardwood floors and Spanish tile, two working fireplaces, attractive and comfortable furnishings, sleep inducing beds and a well appointed bathroom. Kitchen is perfect to prepare meals and snacks. Gated and secured entrances to the parking area and the apartment building. The on-site manager, Carrie is fantastic and has the cutest dog, Tegan. Walk to famous Hollywood Blvd with stores, resturants, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatrer and countless other attractions (check out the scandal laced TMZ tour of all the places the stars hang out and often find trouble). If you're here during the summer months, get tickets to the Hollywood Bowl, pack a picnic (or buy a great variety of food and wine on-site), walk two short blocks and enjoy a quintessential evening under the stars in LA, without any of the parking hassles experienced by your fellow ticket holders. I rented apartment 14 for two months and was fully pleased, I'd highly recommend it.

  Villa Valentino was a pleasant surprise. Right in the middle of everything, the property feels like it is not in LA, like it got frozen in an earlier time. A great alternative to a boring hotel experience, with plenty of space for the whole family, clear and safe. Scott and his staff did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
  
  On the downside, the surroundings are what you can expect from the area, a lot of traffic on highland ave. sometimes made it difficult to get to the entrance, and walking at night does not feel totally safe. But once inside the gate it is a very peaceful place. The A/C could be very noisy at night but the cooler temperature makes up for the noise.
  
  All things considered, this is now our preferred place to stay in LA.

  This is a lovely historic garden apartment complex that is being converted to vacation apartments. Each apartment is unique with beautiful architecture and secure off-street parking. The management team is simply excellent--careful that renovations don't bother current guests. Location is perfect for walking to nearly anything in Hollywood. I'd love to visit every year just to see the progress!
